Yes — water damage calls are answered around the clock. The first few hours after water gets in matter most for stopping mold growth and secondary damage, so we don't sit on emergency calls until business hours.
Water damage restoration is the extraction and drying work that happens right after water intrusion. Mold remediation is a separate, TDLR-licensed process in Texas for any project over 25 square feet, needed when mold has already started growing — often because water sat too long before drying began.
It depends on the cause — a sudden burst pipe is typically covered, while gradual leaks or flood-water intrusion from a storm often fall under different policy terms or require separate flood insurance. We document the cause and damage thoroughly so you have what you need for your specific claim.
Category 3, or black water, is water contaminated with pathogens — most commonly from sewage backups — and it requires different PPE, containment, and disposal than clean Category 1 water from a supply-line break. It's not safe to treat as a standard cleanup.
In Texas, any mold remediation project covering more than 25 contiguous square feet legally requires a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) Mold Remediation Contractor license. Smaller spot areas don't require a license, but using a licensed partner for any real mold problem is still the safer standard.
Most residential jobs take 3 to 5 days of active drying, though it varies with how much material got wet, the water category, and how porous the affected materials are — dense materials like hardwood or concrete take longer.
